ashwerks' Journals on Buzznet

Welcome to Ashwerks Amateur Photography.

This is essentially a place for me to showcase my photographic hobby, and, perhaps occasionally, my views on the subject of photography. Here, you'll notice pics of a variety of subjects; Cars, people, nature, and almost everything in between, as well as the occasional blog devoted to my thoughts on photography.

Updates here will likely be few and far between: I'm extremely hard on myself, and being very critical of one's own work means that out of 500 pictures I take on a given day, I may only choose to showcase a handful of them.

What you will notice on this site is that very few of my shots are of people. The reason for this is simple: I enjoy shooting unique things. For the most part, your average human being is anything but, so I tend to avoid shooting models unless they posess some form of unique beauty. For example, you'll notice that my first model, Sarah, posesses- in addition to being attractive in the conventional sense- an incredibly striking pair of eyes, which set her apart from your average model. So, if you're a typical buxom blond barbie, and want to be photographed, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

As well, when it comes to shooting people, I pride myself on finding visually-striking locales in which to shoot.

I tend to avoid comission work, as what I do is a hobby, not a profession. Therefore, the vast majority of my work is "time for prints", although I will make exceptions for special cases.

Enjoy.
